Microsoft Azure Training 42 – Azure Recovery Services – Part 2 – Azure VM Backup (Exam 70-533)

This is the part 2 of the Azure Recovery Services series. In this series I move on from backing up individual files and folders of a VM to backing up an entire VM in running on Azure. I provide the internal workings on how Azure backup actually backs up an Azure VM and some of the best practices to follow while backing up the Azure VMs. Further I identify that Azure storage account limitations are mostly what impacts the Azure backups and what to watch out for. In the Demo I register an Azure VM to be backed up and create the backup policy as well. After the initial backup is done I show how to restore the VM backup in case the VM were to be corrupted or deleted somehow.

Microsoft Azure Training 41 – Azure Recovery Services – Part 1 – Azure Backup (Exam 70-533)

This is the part 1 of the Azure Recovery Services series. In this session I introduce Azure backup as an offering of Azure Operations Management Suite (OMS). I go over the various advantages and disadvantages of using Azure backup as either a compliment or replacement of traditional backup solutions. In this session I further go over details of Azure backup and what Azure Backup Vault is. In the Demo portion of the session I create an Azure backup Vault and download the Azure Backup Agent with the Backup vault credentials. The demo further gets into installing the agent on an on-premises windows client and backing and restoring data from the Azure Backup Vault.
